At United Fortitude Church, our beliefs are grounded in the truth of God’s Word and the good news of Jesus Christ.
At United Fortitude Church, we present the Gospel to the people (Romans 1:16), while providing growth, understanding, and knowledge of the truth of God through teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42). We demonstrate this with love, His love, by sharing it with the community (John 13:35). We strive to equip the Saints to make disciples for the Lord (Matthew 28:19-20).
The tenets of our faith centers on the good news of Jesus Christ, a message that is "not something I am ashamed of, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16). This salvation is found through faith in Jesus Christ, who Christians believe is the Son of God, truly God and truly human, who lived a sinless life, died on a cross to atone for humanity's sins, and rose again from the dead. This central truth empowers us to live transformed lives.
We believe following Christ means living in community, characterized by devotion to the teachings of the Gospel, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer, as seen in the early church (Acts 2:42). This communal life is marked by a distinctive love, for Jesus said, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:35). This love, rooted in God's love for humanity, extends beyond the church walls, compelling us to share the Gospel with the world.
Therefore, we are commissioned to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20), believing that Christ is always with us as we fulfill this mission.
